Dental Veneers

Veneers are one of the most popular ways to transform a smile. They are made of thin porcelain shells that are placed on the teeth in order to create the look of a natural tooth. The strength of the porcelain is also comparable to a natural tooth. Each veneer is custom made to match the shape and contour of the tooth it is covering.

Process for Porcelain Veneers

The process of getting veneers is generally two or more visits, depending on the fabrication process of the veneer. After a thorough dental cleaning and figuring out the desired shape for the veneer on that tooth, a small layer of enamel is removed in order to give the veneer a surface to grip onto. An impression of the tooth or teeth is made, and temporary veneers are put in place. When the permanent veneers are finished being created, we can remove the temps and install the final product.

Why Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain is an ideal material for veneers because of its strength, ability to match many shades of teeth color and the shine that is reminiscent of a natural tooth. For the first few days of having your veneers, avoid stain-inducing items like red wine, cigarette smoke, coffee, and tea. Proper oral hygiene can help to make sure your veneers last for years to come.
